Fresh off a $400M VC raise, Placemakr’s brand lacked clarity and consumer traction. Confusion about the offering was stalling growth with consumers, partners, and investors.

Objective: 

To rebrand and rebuild the entire marketing function, spanning social content, influencer, advertising, email, PR, investor relations, loyalty and analytics.

Steps Taken: 

  1. Defined the brand positioning and architecture to align the business around a unified story and customer experience. Led full rebrand (from WhyHotel to Placemakr).

  2. Built and scaled the brand + marketing team (creative, PR, growth, lifecycle).

  3. Launched new brand architecture, messaging, and naming.

  4. Created a high-performing D2C engine (paid search, social, email, SEO).

  5. Developed attribution + reporting systems to connect brand to revenue.

Results:

  • $12M in direct booking revenue (+300% YoY growth).

  • #1 share of voice in the competitive set.

  • 35% increase in traffic conversion.
